Yuri Kozyrev and Kadir van Lohuizen received the prestigious Carmignac Photojournalism Award and will begin in the coming weeks an unprecedented photographic and visual adventure. Yuri and Kadir will be the pioneers of a unique narrative.
Their double polar expedition project, "Arctic: New Frontier", will focus on the consequences of the melting of the sea ice for the planet, and the medium-term prospect of its total disappearance.
Yuri Kozyrev will travel towards the East and Kadir van Lohuizen will head West. Each of them will travel halfway across the Arctic Circle to meet in September in the Bering Strait.
From Russia to Norway, Greenland, Canada and Alaska, the two laureates will, in their respective areas of research, explore key issues affecting the Arctic - the opening of new trade routes, the militarisation of borders, the search for mineral resources, polar tourism, etc. – and their impact on our daily lives.

The Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma will host photographers Nina Berman and Susan Meiselas for a conversation about their newly-released books, "An Autobiography of Miss Wish" and "A Room of Their Own."
In their respective projects, both photographers were confronted with finding fresh ways of telling documentary stories about traumatic experience and women searching for safety.
Nina Berman will be giving an artist talk at the Bronx Documentary Center in New York City, February 1st with Kimberly Stevens, to talk about their book An autobiography of Miss Wish.
