Covering
the 2020 U.S Election

During the 2020 Republican National Committee conference, President Trump states that “this is the most important election in U.S history.”
For all voting citizens, this rings true —but for radically differing reasons. Indeed “American voters face a clear choice between two visions and two agendas.” he explains, but this election affects the entire world.
For many, Democracy itself was at risk if Trump was to be re-elected. His presence in office is is considered to be a fuel for the alt-right, white supremacist movement accelerating in the United States. A movement that Nina Berman has been documenting for a decade.
(QUOTE BY NINA ON THIS ELECTION )
So, between the days of Tuesday, November 3rd to Saturday the 7th, the globe came to a stand still—glued to our screens, we all anxiously waited for the last votes to be counted in states like Nevada or Pennsylvania.
But on Saturday, a sense of hope was rekindled. People throughout the U.S erupted in celebration on as Joe Biden secured enough votes to be declared the 46th President. And as predicted, the 2020 election was a record-breaking one; 160 million Americans voted despite the Covid-19 pandemic’s continued spread across the country.
Still, Donald Trump and his allies have claimed that a unchecked voter fraud stole his victory. His campaign have increased their legal efforts, filing a lawsuit in the seven Pennsylvania counties where Trump lost.
Though there is hope, there also remains uncertainty. Until January 20th, 2021 this election will continue to be the biggest, and most draining story of 2020.
