South Side | Jon Lowenstein

Chicago's South Side neighbourhood is home to one of the largest and oldest African-American communities in the United States. It is also one of the poorest areas of the country. Over the past decade, the largest housing developments in the United States have been demolished, disrupting the housing of approximately 100,000 of the poorest residents.

In this documentary project, Jon Lowenstein explores the struggle that ensues to maintain a semblance of order as these neighbourhoods crumble before our eyes.

South Side - a project consisting of large-format photographs, ephemeral, poetic and personal stories - is part of a shared history in the middle of a given space, a post-industrial fusion of a city in full gentrification.

An Autobiography of Miss Wish | Nina Berman

An Autobiography of Miss Wish is a story of two closely related lives, the photographer and her "subject", working closely together to create a unique enigmatic book that pushes the boundaries of documentary narration.

The project brings together heart-rending archive footage depicting crime scenes and flashbacks, psychiatric hospital reports, diary pieces / snippets / personal notes, personal effects, letters and messages between the photographer and the protagonist: Miss Wish.

NOOR and it's partners awarded funding by Google Digital News Innovation Fund

With it's partners World Crunch and Internazionale, we are proud to share that NOOR was awarded funding by the Google Digital News Innovation Fund to develop a new collaborate project "Pix.T: The Blockchain-Driven Marketplace For Photojournalism, Digital Publishing & Exclusive Art Photo Prints".

Pix.T aims to create a vast new marketplace at the service of both photojournalism and online news operations. Turning the digital-print dichotomy on its head, we will build an innovative e-commerce platform powered by blockchain technology to manage the licensing rights of digital images and scale the selling of limited edition prints to the mass market of digital news readership.

 OBOCK, DJIBOUTI - MAY 2018
Under Arabic graffiti that reads “You cannot search for the beauty of love, it comes to you” armed fighter jets have been drawn on the opening of a canvas tent in Obock Camp. Sketched by Yemeni refugee Mohamed Al Abid, the drawings depict the bombing raids in Taiz from which he fled with his pregnant wife.
