Destino final is a photographic and investigative journalistic project focusing on the events and consequences of the Argentine military dictatorship. This is an ongoing project which has led to major breakthroughs in the official investigations regarding the so called “death flights” perpetrated by the Argentine military during the years of the dictatorship.

chagas, the silent disease


Chagas disease is transmitted by a parasite (Trypanosoma cruzi), transported by a blood sucking beetle, the Vinchuca, or triatomine bug. It is estimated that 18 million people are infected and 50.000 die of Chagas every year. Directly related to poverty and social-economic exclusion, it remains largely unnoticed, silenced by governments due to low political importance.

This is a journey through "the uttermost part of the earth", a stretch of land at the Southern tip of South America where bandits were once welcomed and Charles Darwin formed part of his "survival of the fittest" theory.

Patagonia is a place that still retains the exotic mystery of a far-off, unseen land but is inhabited by a tough and sturdy population which struggles to etch out a living in this hostile environment.

Fifty two years after Fidel Castro’s "Revoluciòn", new economic reforms are knocking down walls which resisted for half a century, and the country seems on the verge of finally surrendering to modernity. This is a part of a long-term project documenting the changes in Cuba since the passage of power to Raul Castro since 2008.
