In collaboration with Al-liquindoi Workshops and Cairo-based Contemporary Image Collective, NOOR continues its educational efforts in the Arab world. "Visual Storytelling in an Open Society" is a six-month training opportunity for local photographers in Egypt. framing the future | cairo 2011

NOOR - in collaboration with ItF and CIC - organized a working conference in Cairo, Egypt from 14 to 19 May 2011. "Framing the Future" was about regional interaction between photojournalists and digital media activists to share lessons learned from different Arab experiences earlier in the year, questioning the role of images. saint petersburg 2010

In March 2010, the Annual NOOR-Nikon Masterclass in Documentary Photography took place in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Supported by Nikon Europe BV and with the local organization of the Foundation of Informational and Cultural Projects Foto Departament. During a five day workshop, fifteen participants, together with three NOOR member photographers shared experiences, worked on portfolios, and discussed editing skills. lagos 2009

In March 2009, the NOOR Foundation - with the financial support of Nikon Europe BV - organized a masterclass for 15 African photojournalists hailing from seven different countries. The group gathered in Lagos to team up with three NOOR photographers. During five days of intens sessions, a host of information about the profession was shared. The participants worked on a story around the theme of 'survival' in preparation of the class. For more information click here.
