Philip Blenkinsop returned from Kathmandu last week where he covered the elections, Maoist leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), Tibetan exiles, and Buddhist nuns being arrested while demonstrating outside the Chinese Embassy. His work on Nepal's political history, including the massacre of the Royal family and the Maoist guerrillas in the mountains, can be viewed here and in the Noor archive.

Founding member Jodi Bieber has decided to leave her agency by May the first. Noor is sorry to see Jodi leave at this early stage but respects her choice and wishes her all the best with her work in the future.

Katrina: An Unnatural Disaster - jointly produced by Media Storm and the Open Society Institute and featuring Stanley Greene's and Kadir van Lohuizen's long-term projects on Katrina's Aftermath - has been nominated for the 2008 Webby Awards.
Jan Grarup received the "Special Prize by Juries" in the Days Japan International Photojournalism Award with a picture from Darfur.

Francesco Zizola, together with Deanna Richardson, curated an homage to Alexandra Boulat - "Through the Looking Glass" - at show during the FotoGrafia International Festival from 8 May until 5 June, Rome, Italy. Francesco will be a jury member of the IYP World Photography Contest.

Kadir van Lohuizen will show his work on Chad and Sudan, Darfur at the Lux Theatre in Nijmegen, The Netherlands from 1 May to 3 July. His Diamond Matters exhibit will open the Artè Foto '08 Festival of Photojournalism in Italy. The festival runs from 30 May until 8 June.

Pep Bonet will give a five day workshop in "The Evolution of a Photographic Language" through al-liquindoi in Cádiz, Spain. The deadline for application is 26 May. Pep Bonet's work, "Faith in Chaos" will be shown at the Lumix Festival for Young Photojournalism in Hannover, Germany 8 to 21 June.

Jan Grarup is part of a group exhibition 'Child Soldier' at War Photo limited, July 25 to 31 October 2008.

The World Press Photo 2008 exhibition - including work by Stanley Greene and Francesco Zizola - opens coming weekend in Amsterdam. It will subsequently travel to over 50 places world-wide. Noor has organized a small exhibit at Cafe Schuim in our home-town Amsterdam to welcome the international guests and celebrate the event.
