Thomas Kanuwera is from Zimbabwe, he arrived South Africa in 2005, he lives now at the Central Methodist Church with about 800 other Zimbabwean immigrants.
Because of political differences, in 2010 Thomas was dragged outside of his house with hands and legs tied and was tortured, he was also covered in diesel and papers all over his back and then burned.
He stayed in hospital for 6 months.

She's got two children that she has left back home. She is not working but has been looking for work. "Living at Delvers slum building is a place just to sleep but not ideal to live in".

Wisdom is 41 years old and is blind. He stays in Faraday, he arrived by bus from Zimbabwe coming to look for a job, he wishes to study computer and music, but he does not have access to this.
In south Africa it is survival of the fittest. He is ambitious, he's parents have already passed away. He makes a living out of begging in the streets asking for help from the passers by.

Vusi Mdluli is a 41 years old lawyer, he was working as a prosecutor in Zimbabwe before 2003. He claims to have assisted many asylum seekers from Zimbabwe to countries like Canada, Australia, etc.. He makes his living out of collecting plastic bottles that he sells afterwards to the recyclers. He lives in the Central Methodist Church (CMC) with other 800 inhabitants. Vusi is HIV positive and has two children which are not with him. Normally he makes about 20 rands (2 Euro) a day to live.
